The Pfanzelt Pm Trac III tractor system, thanks to its unique vehicle design. is optimised for combined service in agriculture and forestry as well as in landscape management. With the new generation, a completely new vehicle chassis has now been developed with key components, however, that are based on tried and tested series production parts. The core of the Pm Trac machine are the central attachment bay over the centre of the rear axle and the rapid and flexible adaptation to various working conditions.

For long and short timber forwarding, the rear mounting space, which is located directly above the rear axle, is used for mounting the cable winch and forest crane. Depending on the area of application,
a rear crane (low column) or a loading crane (high column) can be set up with a favourable centre of gravity.
With Pfanzelt's system mount, the different types of cranes and the forestry winches can quickly and easily be assembled and disassembled.
With the tail attachment bay with rear power lift other working implements such as boom-mounted mowing machines can be operated in combination with an additional green shoulder mower or flail mower. The Pfanzelt system mounting serves in the Pm Trac as the carrying frame. The extreme forces generated during the operation of heavy forwarding cranes or mowing booms are absorbed via the bearing frame and dissipated in a controlled fashion.
The Pm Trac deals capably with other forestry tasks beside standard forwarding. In addition to being used with a forest mulcher for surface cultivation, the Pm Trac can also fully exploit its strengths in combination with a Pfanzelt fuel wood felling gripper. When used with a felling unit or a mulching head on the forest crane, which requires greater hydraulic power, an auxiliary hydraulic system can be installed at the rear instead of the winch.
Operation with a shredder is also an option with the Pm Trac. Besides shredders with their own motors, the Pm Trac can also be combined with shredders driven by the tractor’s PTO. The rear PTO of the Pm Trac is always accessible even when a crane and cable winch are mounted.
The Pm Trac is also the ideal helper in landscape preservation when disposing of material.
When the forestry implements have been detached, the tractor can be used for agricultural purposes without any additional conversion work, as no modifications have to be made to the rear power lift or other components that are relevant for forestry operations.
In addition to the rear and front attachment area, the design of the system tractor also includes front loader mounting brackets. For local authority applications, a special coupling plate can be installed instead of the front hydraulics.
The Pfanzelt Forsttrac 2380 is a special version of the Pm Trac tractor system, optimised for the heaviest duty applications with cable winch and logging grab in the forest. A new vehicle configuration with front winch ensures optimum weight distribution and a high degree of soil protection. The sliding tube front axle with hydraulic suspension and automatic locking offers a new dimension in stability for crane operation.
The Pm Trac II has been mounted on a vehicle chassis from a leading tractor manufacturer. The frame was, however, originally designed for agricultural use and as a result had to be redesigned for use in forestry applications. With the new production series of the Pm Trac III, a completely new vehicle chassis has now been developed. The basis is a vehicle frame that has been designed from scratch for forestry use. The new front axle, in the form of a sliding tube axle with hydraulic suspension and automatic immobilisation, also constitutes an integral part of the new chassis. As soon as the Pm Trac comes to a halt, the hydraulic suspension is automatically locked. The vehicle now achieves a degree of stability that was previously only attainable by special forestry tractors.
The quiet running and powerful 6-cylinder DEUTZ engine in the Pm Trac models 2380.5 and 2385.5 with 133 or 174 kW satisfies highest performance requirements with a minimum of fuel and total operating costs.
Equipped with a modern and powerful exhaust gas aftertreatment system, the Pm Trac meets the limits of the EU Tier V emissions standard. For exhaust gas cleaning, a powerful state-of-the-art SCR injection system is used in addition to the externally cooled exhaust gas recirculation.
Due to the changed cabin position towards the middle of the vehicle, additional equipment can be placed in the rear body space using the Pfanzelt system mount (PSA). It is located directly above the rear axle and therefore optimally designed for the load and the vehicle's centre of gravity.
A special quick-change system allows the implements to be changed without tools within shortest intervals. The assembly or disassembly of the crane and winch takes less than 20 minutes.
The operator can rapidly reach working locations or change between them with a permitted road speed of 50 km/h and a transmission suited for road use, and all without requiring an expensive transporter. Even in combination with a forwarding trailer or a trailer-chipper, the vehicle can still be driven on public roads.
The lighting systems and mudguards required for road use can be easily and rapidly removed for forestry operations. The four mudguards that are mounted with a snap-on system are in this case detached from the vehicle. The indicator lights and headlights are concealed behind protective panels.
The pneumatically sprung cabin developed by Pfanzelt enables a quiet and low-vibration work.
With more than 7 m2 of glass, the view of the working environment has been further enhanced. The driver has an even better view of his working area, which facilitates work and increases work safety.
The driver finds a relaxed and ergonomic seat and working position on the 350° electrically rotating operator's platform. When working in the forest, the steering column is quickly and easily folded towards the side. All important controls rotate with the seat and are therefore always within easy reach.
The Pfanzelt XXL cabin was specially created to meet the demands of our customers - little vibration when working in standing timber as well as maximum driving comfort at 50 km/h on the road.
Unique in the forestry industry and essential for use in municipal applications, there is an option of installing a comfortable passenger seat in the cab.
All operating and monitoring functions are mounted on the seat and are therefore always in the operator's field of vision.
The intelligent machine control system - which is operated via a touchscreen monitor on the seat - also allows saving the settings for different drivers.
An additional operating terminal for road travel is located next to the steering wheel. All important parameters are displayed there in the driver's best possible view.
Pfanzelt’s carefully designed service concept begins with easy access to the radiator and engine compartment for cleaning. The vehicle cab can be tipped up for easy access to the remaining machinery compartment. The loading crane and cable winch can be removed in a matter of minutes, exposing the remainder of the chassis.
The floor pan of the tractor can be additionally opened via a cable winch. This means that one person can safely work on his own.
