Exclusive Launch | Pm Trac Generation 36

Generation 36 is the new series of the Pm Trac system tractor. The optics are almost unchanged, but there is a lot of new technology.

The launch of a new machine during the coronavirus pandemic, when the occurrence of infection also makes trade fairs impossible, presented us with a challenge. Nevertheless, Pfanzelt wanted to exclusively present the new Pm Trac Generation 36 to customers who have been driving a Pm Trac for many years - sometimes up to 20,000 hours. The concept was familiar to all visitors to the one-day presentation. However, to experience the new vehicle live for the first time was a highlight.

Hans-Jörg Damm, responsible for Pfanzelt sales in Northern and Central Germany, and Franz Wölfle, responsible for the development of the Pm Trac series, presented a model from the new Pm Trac Generation 36series in the new showroom and explained the differences to the current Pm Trac III. Afterwards, all visitors were given the opportunity to test drive the new Pm Trac both on the road and on the Pfanzelt test circuit, to test the use of the crane for short timber loading.

Pfanzelt introduced the Pm Trac to the public at the ZLF - Zentral Landwirschaftsfest in Munich in 2004 as the "successor" to the Fendt Xylon, which was converted by Pfanzelt into a specialist forestry tractor in large quantities. The Pm Trac I and II series were based on a large-scale CNH tractor chassis. Only after the launch of the Pm Trac III was the chassis of the system tractor developed and produced in Rettenbach am Auerberg. Pfanzelt is now continuing on this path with Generation 36generation. For the new series, Pfanzelt now also uses its own continuously variable transmission variaDRIVE and an in-house manufactured rear tractor axle.

Apart from the exhaust, externally, the Pm Trac appears almost unchanged. However, many developments have been made in the chassis.

The new technology makes the difference:

  • Deutz engine with 180 or 235 hp (6.1 l cylinder capacity, max. torque 1072 Nm at 1500 n/min) with Cleanfix reversible fan
  • 380 litre fuel tank
  • variaDRIVE continuously variable split transmission, up to 50 km/h (max. speed with reduced engine speed)
  • Hydraulic system with 160 l/min (optional 220 l/min and additional power pack directly on the gearbox PTO) at 210 bar
  • New software and touchscreen operating terminals for machine control (e.g. preset of all crane functions and joystick assignments can be saved for three drivers)
  • and much more.
