The 2026 KWF Theme Days are aimed in particular at staff working in state and local authority forestry departments, forestry companies and forest owners. Along the circular trail, practical solutions for the management and maintenance of young forests will be presented. The event will be complemented by specialist talks, discussions and numerous exhibitors from the forestry sector.
Moritz FR75 in action
At the KWF Theme Days, Pfanzelt demonstrates how modern mechanisation can be combined with nature-friendly and soil-conserving forest management. The focus is on the Moritz FR75 forestry crawler, which, thanks to its low ground pressure and versatile attachment options, can carry out various tasks in reforestation, forest tending and site preparation.
Various methods and attachments will be demonstrated in practical use. These include the Plantomat container planting machine for automated planting, including site preparation; the MAX forestry mulcher for preparing seedbeds and planting areas; and the strip tiller. In this way, Pfanzelt demonstrates various options for the efficient yet soil-conserving cultivation of forest land.
Launch: Moritz FR75 with SMART COMMAND / SMART GUIDE
A particular highlight of the KWF Theme Days 2026 is the first official presentation of the Moritz FR75 with the high-precision steering system SMART COMMAND / SMART GUIDE by Reichhardt. The new solution assists the operator with precise lane guidance and opens up new possibilities, particularly for systematic work over larger areas.
A tablet mounted above the radio remote control allows driving paths to be planned, managed and monitored. In addition to standard A-B lines, custom curved paths can be programmed or points defined directly via the map view. The Moritz then follows the planned route.
Positioning is carried out using GPS-RTK technology and enables a tracking accuracy of 1 to 2 centimetres. This allows driving paths to be reproduced exactly, overlaps to be reduced and work processes to be organised more efficiently.
Precise lane guidance – the driver remains in control
SMART COMMAND / SMART GUIDE is not a fully autonomous driving mode. The operator remains in control at all times and actively controls the vehicle’s movement via the joystick. The operator also determines the speed. Meanwhile, the steering system takes over automatic lane guidance.
If the operator intervenes in the steering themselves, the system detects this immediately and deactivates the automatic steering mode. With the optional SMART TURN extension, headland areas can also be defined and turning manoeuvres assisted. This allows the Moritz to be guided in a controlled manner onto the next track.
Particularly for repetitive and area-specific tasks, precise lane guidance can help to reduce the driver’s workload whilst achieving consistent and reproducible results.
Research and practice relating to the Moritz
Pfanzelt is also represented at the KWF Theme Days in collaboration with the Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences (HSWT). At excursion point 03 on the circular tour, the HSWT will present, amongst other things, the latest findings from its studies on large-scale operation of the ‘Moritz’ forestry crawler. The exhibition stand thus combines practical machine demonstrations with scientific insights into forestry operations and soil-conserving management. This collaboration is also highlighted in the invitation to the KWF Theme Days.
