Multipurpose Moritz

The 2018 edition of the "Forsttag" event, organised by BayWa Forstzentrum Lübben forestry supplier, took place in Möglenz on the border between Germany's federal states of Brandenburg and Saxony. As always in recent years it was a very busy event. Pfanzelt once again took the opportunity and showcased new developments within the context of the Moritz track vehicle to interested, specialist visitors.

Ever since Moritz was first presented at the KWF convention 2016 as a felling tool the concept has evolved significantly. At the start of the course a traditional Moritz Fr50 version was stacking pine timber temporarily. Further down the line onlookers had the opportunity to experience the benefits of the multipurpose Moritz track vehicle live. In addition to a mulcher version, the vehicle was also showcased with an edge plough featuring a mounted sowing unit and a new Pfanzelt Sä milling combination unit.

Little has changed in terms of the basic design of the Moritz minitractor. The unit's compact dimensions and low deadweight enable smooth transportation on a car trailer or in a van. The weight of only 1.4 t including winch also guarantees the very low soil pressure. Widen the chassis with hydraulic power to work in challenging terrain.

The new feature is that the cable winch can be removed using a quick-change system. Consequently, you can attach various tools to the basic vehicle. For this purpose, the vehicle boasts a category 1 standardised three-point mount and a mechanical PTO as well as up to three hydraulic control units. As a result, Moritz is suitable for several purposes.

The new sow-milling combination that was also on show has been developed in close collaboration with the Federal Forestry Authority of Brandenburg who had already been using it for several months in trials. As part of the process, the milling wheel produces cuts in the forest ground measuring between 6 and 8 cm in depth and cuts fallen branches or small roots to enable ideal sowing results. The vehicle features different sowing chambers and separate systems for seeding so that both small and large seeds can be processed. A transparent, electronic operating unit enables detailed adjustment of the sowing unit.
