The KWF Members Award was presented to 10 exhibitors on 19 June in the Future Workshop on the conference grounds. All exhibitors at the KWF conference who presented products whose use facilitated a new process or improved a known process were invited to take part here. With the Phantomat Flex, Pfanzelt presented a new attachment for the Moritz mini felling tractor as well as a new method for natural forest conversion.
Pfanzelt has been active on the market with a container planter since the KWF Theme Days 2022 in Jessen. Previously, planters were only available for large and heavy carriers (excavators, forwarders, tractors). With the Plantomat container planter on the Moritz mini felling tractor, planting by machine is possible for the first time using gentle, small-sized technology. The planter is equipped with a hydraulically driven cutting disc to remove unwanted growth and forest soil (humus layer) from the plant bed. A planting hole is then prepared and, after the plant has been positioned, it is pressed down by means of a hydraulically operated device to ensure the necessary ground contact. The container planter is partly automated, with the operator taking over the driving and positioning of the Moritz. The planting process itself is completely automatic. The first model has undergone several product updates and further developments over the last two years. At the KWF conference, Pfanzelt now presented a second container planter system. Both methods will be offered in parallel in the future. Thanks to the improved system of the new Plantomat Flex version, the number of units per hour can be almost doubled, as milling and planting are carried out simultaneously. Whereas previously approx. 100 container plants per hour were possible, 170 plants per hour are now possible under optimal conditions.
